New Tiguan is “Space”, but not for “All”

The Tiguan AllSpace, which now arrives in the Brazilian market with prices ranging from BRL 124,900 to BRL 179,990 , rests on two pillars to stand out in the market: ample internal space, including the possibility to take up to seven occupants, and Technological trachytanas. However, both aspects deserve some reservations. View here for more info: rav4 7 seat

It turns out that many of the most interesting pieces of equipment on Volkswagen's SUV, including the digital instrument panel with a 12.3-inch screen, the driving mode selector (which changes the accelerator actuation, electronic shift center and steering assistance) and the automatic trunk (just, with the key in your pocket, put your foot under the rear bumper to open the lid or move up to 1.5 m away from the vehicle to close it) are restricted to the top version of R-Line.

The most complete Tiguan also brings a veritable arsenal of safety equipment, including a pedestrian detection system with automatic braking in case there is an imminent risk of being run over, fatigue alert capable of activating the vehicle's brakes if the driver suffers a "blackout" and the proactive protection, which closes the windows and the sunroof and activates the pretensioners of the belts in situations of potential accident. If a collision is unavoidable, there is also the automatic braking system, which immobilizes the car, to avoid successive crashes.

Space is good for five but limited to seven

The other caveat stems from the fact that the possibility of carrying two extra passengers, which is precisely one of the biggest attractions of the Tiguan AllSpace, may also end up not being so advantageous. The space there is quite limited: it suits two children or two adults well on short journeys, but it is not recommended to go much further.

As the central row of seats is sliding, using rails, you can make legroom for extra occupants without sacrificing others. But even so, the passengers in the Fundão suffer from the very low seats, which make their posture uncomfortable, and with the low roof, which makes people over 1.70 years old to bump their heads on the roof.

Passengers in the third row of seats face yet another problem: curtain airbags do not reach them. Thus, they do not have the protection of any equipment of this type, since all of the vehicle's airbags (there are six: front, side and the aforementioned curtain type) are aimed at the five occupants who are accommodated in the front seats and central.

However, it is true that, in addition to enjoying more security, the occupants in the first rows also enjoy great space. With the central seats in the deepest position, whoever sits there can even stretch their legs. What's more, the folding system for the extra seats is simple, and they are built into the trunk floor when not in use.
